Bunches of Mother's Day cards

Just sharing with you a few cards I made for Mother's Day at the request of some of my co-workers.  The first one is my favorite and I might make something similar for my own mom.  I also created some boxes for these cards, but I wasn't about to spend the whole night taking photographs, lol.

A flowery type of day

I guess it's just a flowery day of creations for me :)  This time I'm sharing a Some Odd Girl creation using A Mae Day.  I think that's such a clever name!  I Stickled the flowers, but it didn't photograph very well, sorry about that!  Our No DP challenge is still going on at the Some Odd Girl Blog so make sure to head over there and add in your entry.

Here's something a little different :)

I usually don't make many things without a colored image, but I just had to try out the Tissue Flower Tutorial at SCS. My tissue flower didn't turn out quite the same, but I think it still turned out okay.  This definitely will not be the last time I'll be making one of these!

I created this card for the ScrapbookPal.com design team call.  I've used a few things on this card that they already carry including Nestabilities Labels Nine (for the frame behind the tissue flower) as well as Nestabilities Dahlia (which I used to cut out the layers of the tissue flower).  I cut out at least 10 tissue layers of 3 Dahlia Nestie shapes, punched a hole in the middle using my Crop-a-dile, and stuck a BasicGrey brad in the middle.  I misted the tissue flower with a hint of Glimmer Mist (Pearl) then inked it up a bit using a few Distress Ink Pads (Mustard Seed and Dried Marigold).  The papers I used were from Pink Paislee 365 Degrees, which I cut out and layered and glued on using my Tombow Mono Dispenser and Permanent Refill.  The cotton trim and ribbon which wraps around some of the layers were oldies from my ribbon stash.  I also added some color to the charm using Smooch Siren.  Whew, I seem to already have a lot of the stuff that they carry :)

A new challenge has also been posted up at the Meljen's Designs DT blog.  It's an easy challenge - the theme this week is "For the Little Ones." You can interpret this challenge any way you wish. This second card is to showcase a stamp that Deb at Deb's Creations carries.  This cute stamp is from Wags 'n Whiskers called Water Baby.  I don't know why, but this little girl looks really sassy to me! Must be the look she's giving, lol.  I also colored this card using my Distress Reinkers!

For The Troops Sentiments Set Freebie

Just popping in to quickly share a For The Troops Sentiments set I created.  I was thinking about the Memory Day holiday coming up and I thought maybe this would give everyone a head start on making some cards for the military men and/or women in your lives.  My brother is in the Navy and he'll be leaving again soon so I had him in mind, too.

Whimsy Stamps Digital Collection Release Party!

Today is the day!

Whimsy Stamps Digital Collection Release Party

If you've come from Crissy's blog, then you're on the right track.  If not, please head over to Crissy's blog because she is kicking off our blog hop today.

I'm so excited about this event because all week, I've seen such wonderful creations from the Whimsy Stamps design team using new images and sentiments from the Whimsy Stamps Digital Collection!  There are a whole lot of things releasing today including: exclusive designs from Crissy Armstrong, Katie Sowa, and myself as well as some others from Whimsy's previous rubber stamp collections. All will be available for download upon completion of purchase. Each download will contain a zip file with 3 versions of the image, a JPEG, TIFF, and PNG all at 300dpi resolution. Images can be flipped, rotated, or resized to fit project needs.  The sentiments also come in JPEG as whole sheets (letter size 8.5" x 11") and A2 size (4.25" x 5.5") so that you can print all of them as once.  The A2 size is supposed to be for you to be easier to use some of the sentiments with punches.  At least, that's the plan, lol.

A flowery Mae

Yes, another card.  Boy, I really gotta start making different things!  I've been wanting to get the Martha Stewart scoring board since it's half the cost of the ScorPal, but I can't find it at the Michael's around where I live.  Until then, I hope you don't get tired of my cards!

Today I've used a new Some Odd Girl image that will be released on April 20.  This image is called Mae as Alice Pose!  She's just lovely, isn't she?  I'll be sharing another image next week using a robot that I absolutely adore.  Yeah, there goes my thing for robots again!  The challenge at the SOG blog is still running and if you join in on our sketch challenge, you'll get a chance to win an image from the Some Odd Girl store.  You do not have to use an SOG image, but if you do, you will be entered twice!

A bright card done on a cloudy day

Hi everyone! I have another quick card to share with you. Wow, lots of posts for me today!  It's cloudy here in Southern California and there's some chance of rain. I love the rain :)

This card is one that I created using one of the new Wags and Whiskers images called Tiny Dancer.  You can get this little gal from Deb's Creations at this page along with the pink cherry blossoms that you see on the flower arrangements.  Deb was also kind enough to send me all the papers that I used on this card.  They're all Kaisercraft papers.  I believe Deb sells them, too, but you'll have to contact her for that.

I hope you like the card! This image is just DARLING, so sweet and innocent.  Love it!  This card is also for the Wags and Whiskers Challenge #18 Scallops and Sunday Sketch and Stamp Challenge #25.

Pile It On Sunday and another sneak peek

I'm so excited about the new Whimsy Stamps digital line release on Monday! I thought I had all my sneak peeks already created, but it turns out that the Pile It On Challenge for this week was the perfect chance to show off another peek at what's included in the Love Sentiments set.  The Pile it On Challenge for this week is: no images allowed, use sentiments or embellishments as the focal point of your creation.

I guess now would also be a good time to introduce you to the upcoming opening of my new challenge blog: Sentimental Sundays!  The first challenge will be on April 18th (mark your calendars) and challenges will be held every other Sunday along with a freebie digital sentiment.  The goal of this challenge blog will be to ask you to use sentiments to enhance your cards.  You can read more about it at the blog here.

Alrightey, on to my card this week!  I've used a sentiment from the Whimsy Stamps Love Sentiments digital set (releasing Monday, April 12).  I love the new papers from Memory Box and I just thought that it was the perfect DP to pair up with the sentiment and lace.  Make sure to head over to the Pile It On blog to enter our challenge this week!
