Paper Maniac Inspirations: No stamps!

Hi everyone! I'm here to share with you a card that really showcases the wonderful patterned papers in The Boyfriend Mini Deck by Cosmo Cricket. Aside from the name of the paper deck, this card really isn't very boyish at all! I've used a Martha Stewart punch on one of the edges and I think it goes really well with the polka dots. There are no stamps here - just stickers. You can find a wide variety of stickers to decorate your cards in the Paper Maniac store.

This card was made using the CardPatterns Sketch #45.

May the new year bring everyone lots of joy!

Paper Maniac Inspirations: Quick and Simple

I can't believe how quickly Christmas has come! I hope that you've sent off your Christmas cards already and if not, well, you can always blame it on the Post Office :)

Today, I am sharing with you a quick and simple card using Cosmo Cricket Early Bird paper. All I've done is distressed the edges with my paper edger, added some cotton twine, and used a ticket punch on the card base. I think this is a very versatile layout, one which I certainly use over and over again.

For those who celebrate Christmas, I hope that you have a fantastic one this year spent with family and loved ones. I'll be back again next week for my last post for the year! Can you believe 2010 is almost here already?

Whimsy December Advent Event: Day 17!

Are you ready for another Whimsy Thursday?

Whimsy Stamps is hosting a Whimsy December Advent Event, in which every day till Christmas, one Whimsy stamp will be given away by a member of the DT! Make sure to visit the Whimsy Stamps website daily to see some wonderful creations as well as for a chance to enter some stamp goodness.

I'm hosting the stamp giveaway today and if you leave a comment on this post, you will be in the running to win the adorable Whimsy Purr-fect Gift stamp that you see below. This kitty is sooo adorable! Don't forget to also visit Simonne's blog (my posting partner for this month) because she has a FANTASTIC creation using this little cutie here. Leave her some love!

I decided to go with something a bit more simple (and not Christmas related), but I definitely comes in handy when you only have a few minutes to spare. Sometimes I know that there are some people who don't feel as confident with coloring images - I'm one of them! Well guess what? The Whimsy Circle Postmarks Sentiment Set that I used on this card is one that you can build your card around and not have to worry about coloring.

Well, I hope you enjoyed my creation for today. As before, please leave a comment on this post for a chance to win the Whimsy Purr-fect Gift stamp. I will draw a winner around 9AM PST tomorrow. Thanks for visiting!

Paper Maniac Inspirations: Bigger is better!

This week at Paper Maniac, we're dumping those A2 cards and making larger cards for your viewing pleasure!

I made a 5"x7" card using the Flourishes Nasturtiums set. The stamps on the set just really set it apart from all the floral stamps that you see anywhere else. Why? It's very easy to layer the flowers and create a wonderful 3D effect. Also, even someone who isn't an expert at coloring like I am can get away with not being perfect because the shading on the stamp directs you on how to color it. I've used two kinds of ribbon on this card, one sheer and the other satin, and printed out a sentiment from the computer. I hope you like it and that you're inspired!

Stamp: Flourishes Nasturtiums; Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics; Paper: DCWV; Accessories/tools: Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, satin and sheer ribbon

Paper Maniac Inspirations: Last minute gift idea and bling!

This week I'm sharing with you an altered notebook with a holiday theme. For this project, you have to have a good adhesive. I also love to use the Tombow Mono Permanent Adhesive because once I press down on it, it's very hard to rip off. For this project, I've used papers from the BasicGrey Wassail line, which can be found in the BasicGrey Christmas Card Class Kit. I decorated it with some raffia and, like Denise, added some rhinestone bling around the edges to accent the polka dots that were already on the notebook. The main image, which is actually a chipboard sticker, is from the Warm Wishes Chipboard Stickers set.

There you go, another easy and cost-effect project that you can either keep for yourself or stuff in someone's stocking!

You have to have some kind of stamp in there (digital is okay too), but other than that, make anything your heart desires! The lovely Denise gave me this super cute stamp and I just loved using her!
