A Haunting Challenge from 7 Kids College Fund!

Happy middle of the week!  Can the middle of the week be happy? Of course; it means the week is already half-way over :)

Welcome to another 7 Kids College Fund Challenge!  This week, we're asking you to create a fall themed or Halloween creation using the wonderful sketch by Lisa Andrews.  We also have an optional challenge to combine two stamps on your creation.  Make sure you visit the 7 Kids College Fund Challenge Blog to play along! We have a great prize this week, but you must use a stamp that is carried by the 7 Kids store to be eligible.

Since I don't have very many Halloween stamps (NONE to be exact), I used some two Magnolia stamps, instead: Captain Edwin and Spanish Tilda.  Does it make sense?  They're supposed to be dressed in their costumes and out trick-or-treating.  I hope this make sense, lol.  I used papers from the BasicGrey Eerie 6x6 Paper Pad, which is the quintessential paper pad for Halloween cards.  It just goes perfectly for all your spooky creations.

The sentiment is from the Whimsy Stamps Halloween Ticket Sentiments set which will be releasing at the Whimsy Stamps Store tomorrow along with another Halloween Sentiments set which I've cut out and put on a die cut from the Tim Holtz Ticket Strip Die (also available from 7 Kids).  ALL the Whimsy Ticket Sentiments fit very nicely in these dies because they are the perfect proportions!  I could, of course, just cut them out, but the wonderful thing about the die is that it has nice perforations at the end of the tickets, like real tickets do.  You can click each product below to be taken to their product page.

I can't believe another Monday is over! One step closer to the weekend :)

Lil Miss Poppy

Hi everyone! I can't believe the week is almost over.  It's flown by so quickly!  And look, I actually made cards this week, lol.

Today I'm sharing with you my first card made with a Belles n' Whistles stamp.  Isn't Lil Miss Poppy so adorable?  I think I've gotten myself hooked on another stamp company, as if I need to feed my obsession even more.  I just couldn't resist, though; just look at this image!  She was so fun to color.  I paired her up with some of the new BasicGrey Oliver papers. Funny thing about these papers - you'd think that they were really boyish; well, some are, but some are also perfect for bright, girly cards just like the one I have below.  I found myself not being able to decide which papers to use. Here's a picture of the Oliver paper pad:

Whimsy Stamps Store Update

As many of you know, the Whimsy Stamps Online Store has been offline for the past few days, as we have been upgrading our hosting server to support all of our great customers, and the increased demand we have been experiencing over the past few months. Please accept our sincerest apology for any inconvenience this has caused you. We greatly appreciate your patience and support.

Our tech support team has been feverishly working to make the transition, but an issue that occurred with our store during the transition has forced us to do a full restore of our database. The good news is they will be able to get us back online - the bad news is it may take as many as 7 to 10 days to do so. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience and promise that while we may not be online, we are still working to serve our customers.

All orders placed before the server switch have been shipped and/or are pending shipment. We are waiting on custom orders which should be here on Friday, September 17th. Those orders will be shipped immediately. If you have ordered digital stamp products and you did not have access to retrieve those files, please email us at whimsystamps@gmail.com and we will promptly send you the files via email.

Lastly, if anyone would like to place an order while we are offline, you can email us at whimsystamps@gmail.com and we will send you an invoice through PayPal and process your order as soon as possible. Digital stamp orders can be filled via email and I can ship out rubber stamp products. If you are willing to email orders, we are more than willing to provide you with the best customer service possible to get you what you need.

We do have many exciting events and promotions planned for the coming weeks at Whimsy and we are determined to not let those plans be affected by this…let's just call it… a mess! We will continue to bring our customers new digital and rubber stamps and we will be back better than ever! 7 Kids College Fund Challenge #4: Sketch with a Fall theme!

Hello all!

Welcome to another 7 Kids College Fund Challenge!  This wee, we're asking you to create a fall themed creation using the wonderful sketch that Suzanne Dean has cooked up.  Make sure you visit the 7 Kids College Fund Challenge Blog to play along! For this card, I've used one of the newest CC Designs stamps called Fall Scene.  I love these pumpkins!  They're so homely.  It was the perfect time, too, to use some of this DCWV paper that I've had for a very long time along with a raffia that I've had since last fall :)  I used a variety of flowers from Prima and Wild Orchids.  The image is colored with distress reinkers with Medium Koi Water Brush from Sakura.  The circle was cut out with Nestabilities and the embossing folder used for it was the Birds and Swirls embossing folder.

Standing Fall Tilda and Hive Creative Challenge

I hope you're all having a great start of the week so far! Today was a real Monday for me; wow did it pass by slowly.  Hope yours was better than mine :)

Today I'm sharing with you one of the first Magnolia Tilda stamps I ever bought called Standing Fall Tilda from the Halloween and Autumn Collection, which is available at 7 Kids HERE.  There are so many challenges right now with a Fall theme so I couldn't resist inking up this sweet Tilda image :)  I went for a more simple look with this card (at least simple for me), gave it a little texture with the Swiss Dots Embossing folder and added a little dazzle with some gemstones.  Of course, my image is colored with distress reinkers using my NEW Medium Koi Water Brush from Sakura.  I like this brush better than the previous one I had - I just felt like I had more control over my coloring.

Tilda with Umbrella

Wow, another post from me today?  Yep, a rarity these days :)

I have a Magnolia card to share with you today!  It uses the Tilda with Umbrella stamp that was released in the Bon Voyage Collection.  I actually saw this stamp a long time ago (before the collection was released) on someone else's blog and was waiting for so long to be able to get it.  7 Kids College Fund now carries this stamp so why not go and pick it up?

I am also LOVING all the papers that are in the BasicGrey Olivia paper pad, which 7 Kids College Fund will have in stock soon.  Oh, and while you're there, you can also pick some of gemstones like the one I used in my card.  A girl like Tilda's gotta have some bling :)

Paper Maniac One Year Celebration!

Welcome to the Paper Maniac One Year Celebration!

Today we are hosting a celebration in honor of Paper Maniac's one year birthday!  I was on the first Paper Maniac DT and Patti invited me on board to join in on the festivities.  I'm honored to be joining my previous DT members, even if it's just for a blog hop :)

The theme for this blog hop is CELEBRATE!  I'm sharing with you a card and a 3x3 note card box (SCS tutorial here) that I created using some GORGEOUS (I absolutely fell in love with these) October Afternoon papers from The Thrift Shop and Fly a Kite pads. The Fly a Kite paper pad is currently out of stock, but it will be back on the shelves in about two weeks time to keep checking the October Afternoon section.  I created some fun pinwheels for this project which were really easy to do.  The papers aren't double sided - I just glued one on the back of the other :)

Purr-fect Gift and a sneak peek!

Hello Whimsy fans!  Did you enjoy hopping along in yesterday's blog hop?  I hope so!  If you haven't been able to make your rounds yet, well, you're missing out.  There are some fantastic creations and the DT has done an absolutely amazing job with all of their samples.  They deserve a round of applause!  You can visit the Whimsy Stamps Inspiration Blog to find the blog hop list.

I have a new card to share with you today as well as a sneak peek!  For my card, I've used Crissy's Purr-fect Gift (I love this image) and matched it up with the perfect paper from BasicGrey called Max and Whiskers.  Isn't this kitty adorable??  This challenge is also for the No Time To Stamp Challenge which is a color challenge and I used the sketch at Sketch Saturday.

I've used it for only the second time here on the back of my card :)

The custom rubber stamps will be made of high quality gray rubber and as with ALL Whimsy stamps, it will come to your door cling-mounted and ready to go! All you have to do is a little trimming and you're ready to put that stamp to good use.
