SPS Weekly Post!

Eeek!!  So sorry for the tardiness of this post - it totally slipped my mind!  Hubby and I were reorganizing some of my crap stuff, I mean craft stuff, and I was overwhelmed by the thought of how much I had that I might not be able to use before I croak.  Strange thought I know.

Anyway, enough rambling and on to my Shop Pumpkin Spice creations for the week!  These creations were featured in Issue #2 of the Whimsy Stamps Inspirations Magazine (which is still such a fabulous issue to refer to for tutorials, tips and inspiration).

This first card uses Crate Paper Neighborhood Collection 6" x 6" paper pad  and the stamp is from Whimsy Stamps called Monkey Toes (too adorable).  It's paired up with a sentiment from the Party Mini Letter Seals set.  The image was colored with Distress Inks.

The second card uses papers from the fun Echo Park Summer Days Collection.  I just love this fun and bright collection!  The images are a combination of Whimsy and Make it Crafty - Bart Goes Golfing and Rainbow Dandelion Landscape. The cute little dragonfly chipboards are from MiC also.  The image was colored with Copics.

MiC Christmas Elf Socks

Hi everyone!

I actually got to make something for fun last night :)  Make it Crafty has a new Christmas release and all the digis are just a complete must-have.  There are some cute elves, cheeky elves, elegant angels, gingerbread men and a house.  I just couldn't want to play with them!

The first one I chose to color up and create something with was Socks, although it was a tough choice since they're all adorable.  I thought I would try something different so I have him hanging off of a circle outline die cut.  The sentiment is from the Whimsy Stamps Winter Letter Seals set.  The quote inside remains to be one of my favorite winter-related quotes ever :) I also used some MiC Chipboard which were generously treated with Golden Rod Stickles (love how they turned out - looks much better in real life!)

The papers I used are from the GORGEOUS Echo Park - Season's Greetings 6x6 Paper Pad, which Shop Pumpkin Spice has for only $4.19!  I actually used up a whole paper pad already!  I printed out 6 of the new elves and separated the papers out for each image so that I can (try) to match the paper colors.  So yep, I used up a whole pad and you'll be seeing A LOT of this paper :)

All edges were distressed with Distress Inks in Vintage Photo.

I made something very simple for today's creation!  Mainly because I was pretty tired from working on the magazine and was almost half-delirious while I made this, lol.  It doesn't help with my football team (Chargers) lost on Sunday.  I was very bitter while I was coloring this, but stuck to the Chargers blue and gold.  Football Bart is so adorable - I just love all of Crissy's Bart images!  I wish I had lightened the background image (available at Make it Crafty) a bit, but I didn't plan ahead!  Did you notice that the wonky house is also in Chargers blue and gold?

Butterfly Fairy

Hi everyone!

Just a quick post to share a card I made for fun!  I hardly ever get to do that anymore so I'm happy about this one :)  Not to say that this one is anything to cheer about, but I do really like how tender the flower turned out on Crissy's beautiful Fairy Daydreams (available at Whimsy).  I just love this image!  I'm doing the no-lines thing again, which I thought had a lovely effect with this soft and tender fairy.  Too bad I colored the stem so brightly, but oh well, one can always improve!  The background is a Make It Crafty Tulip Garden digi, which is greedily snagged during Zoe's sale.  I couldn't pass up such a great deal!  Nowadays my images feel so empty and "floaty" when I don't have a background.  The little postmark is from the Whimsy Stamps Birthday Postage Stamp Sentiments and the butterflies are from the newly release Whimsy Elegant Butterflies Dies set.

Victoria's Garden

Thanks for stopping by today. I'm supposed to have two more posts (one of Fuzzy Wuzzy and the other for Pink Ink Sketch), but I've been way too tired and after that feat with the magazine, I just decided to take a break from most of my design stuff, EXCEPT for Pumpkin Spice of course :)

For today's SPS share, I've used some gorgeous papers from the recently released Echo Park Victoria Garden Collection.  The patterns and colors are absolutely amazing in this collection and I'm kicking myself for not ordering some of the individual papers and journaling cards, which is of course all available at Pumpkin Spice for super low prices.  Check it out:

For today's card, I've used papers from the  Echo Park - "Victoria Garden" 6x6 Pad and paired it up with a colored scene using Make It Crafty images.  I used the "no lines" thing that's popular right now at the Make It Crafty Facebook group.  It's my first attempt at the technique so constructive criticism is welcome!  Although the image is named Pipi, I'm deciding to call this card Victoria's Garden to match the papers I used :)

MiC chipboard dragonflies!

Hello everyone! 

I wanted to quickly pop in a share this card for the special challenge at Make it Colourful to celebrate Make it Crafty's one year anniversary.  Talk about cutting it close!  I used Make it Crafty's Mini Dragonflies laser-cut chipboard (thanks, Zoe!).  I promised myself that I would do something to highlight these little beauties because they really do deserve the spotlight on their own.  Just look at how gorgeous they are!

Even though I fussed over this card and it started out WAAAAY different than what it ended up (two pieces of kraft cardstock fell victim to my indecision), it didn't take very long to put it together.  First, the blue dragonflies (well they weren't blue yet) were laid down on a scrap piece of paper and I took a Tumbled Glass Distress Inkpad and stamped them blue.  I don't have any other colors of inkpads except browns so to color the pinkish/red dragonfly, I  used Liquid Pearls in Rogue.  After they dried, I used Stickles to add glitter to them (a clear one, I don't know which exactly).  After that dried, I added Diamond Glaze over it.  Sounds like a lot, but it really didn't take long at all, especially since the drying was pretty quick because it was a small area.

The rest of the card is just typical me.  Pretty paper, overdone flowers, and a bit of twine as my attempt to use up my ridiculous stash.

Moments with you...

Eeek!  I can't believe I'm posting another card!  I'm having a nice, long, relaxing weekend and I hope you are, too.  Gosh, I can definitely feel summer coming on!  It's warming up here in Southern California.

Today I used a few different digital images, two from Crissy's Digis at Whimsy Stamps (Can I Kiss You and Sweet Sarah)  and one from Zoe at Make it Crafty (Whimsical Log).  I've also used two rubber sentiments from the Everyday Mini Postage Stamps.  The mini postage stamps were cut out using the Whimsy Mini Postage Die.  Don't the images go so well together?  I kind of botched up the grass, which I'm very unhappy about because it took soooo long to color this.  

Like I mentioned in the previous post, I've been playing around with different watercolor papers.  For this image, I printed it out on Canson Montval watercolor paper.  I think I really like this paper!  Not only is it priced very reasonably, but it's also pretty great to work with.  Like the Lanaquarelle, it keeps the ink wet for longer. I usually actually don't prep the paper before watercoloring on it, but for this paper, it was useful. 

I'm actually not too fond of the card, but eh, might as well post it. This card uses the sketch at Sweet Stop Challenge.

Hello everyone!  Just a quick post to share with you a card I made using my first Make It Crafty image called Ornate Floral Scroll!  I'm running a little behind on my daily giveaways because some personal things have been coming up, but I'll be catching up with them soon.

As I mentioned the scroll is from Make it Crafty and you can find it here.  I paired it up with one my sentiments from the Love Sentiments digital set.  I think they're so romantic together!  The pretty papers helped, too :)  The pearls are from a Viva Decor Gold Pearl Pen.  I actually managed to do a decent job of spacing out the pearls on the outer border, but I think I got kind of tired when it came to putting them around the oval frame so don't look at those too closely, lol.
