Butterflies and Blossoms

I went on a shopping spree at Flourishes recently and one of the sets I got was the Butterflies & Blossoms set.  It's such a gorgeous set and I couldn't wait to use it! Of course, I know nothing about flowers or butterflies so I looked up what a clemantis looked like, but all the ones I found were purple or pink and I just wasn't feeling like pink today : /  So, instead they're orangy.  I tried.

The papers used are from the BasicGrey Curio 6x6 Paper Pad.  I used my yummy new silk ribbon from May Arts, added a doily behind the image and did some sewing on the four panels in the back.

The edges of the Nestabilities Labels 2 die were distressed using the Inkssentials Ink Blending Tool using the Vintage Photo Distress Ink Pad while the die cut was still on top of the paper. The image was colored using Distress Reinkers with Small Koi Water Brush.  Feels weird not to have a sentiment on the front.

Sailing Away

Another post from me today!

I think one of my resolutions for the New Year will be to ink up and use all the stamps I own.  Yeah, right.  That's so not going to happen, but I'm going to TRY.  That might mean I have to ink up a new stamp every week, so that takes care of 52 stamps...so then I would need say, an extra 10 years or so to keep up with my new year's resolution.  Not to mention, that would mean I couldn't buy any new stamps.  Fat chance.

Anywho, a girl can dream.

BUT, I have managed to use my unused Lili of the Valley image called Sailing Boat.  I just love his little guy.  Love the way he's holding is boat.  This little guy was colored with Distress Reinkers with Small Koi Water Brush.
 
Oh, and I got so excited that I was able to use my October Afternoon Seaside Paper Pad.  I haven't touched this pad at all, but just look at how PERFECT it matches the image!! Isn't that cool?  Okay, maybe it's a little too matchy-matchy, but I couldn't help myself.  I even decorated the inside of the card, something I rarely do, but will definitely try to do more often next year.  It just finishes the card off so nicely.

The sentiment is from the Whimsy Stamps Circle Postmarks.  I forgot how much I actually really liked this sentiment set.  I guess there must have been a reason why I designed them this way, lol.

I used some new stuff that I treated myself to which are the ivory twill and the baker's twine.  I was kicking myself for not using my netting ribbon, which would have gone perfectly with this card.  I did manage to use some more Viva Decor Pearl Pens (no surprise).  I used the Light Blue Pearl Pen on top of the brass brads and the Copper Pearl Pen on the bottom left corner.

Secret Tilda

Hiya everyone!  I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas (those who celebrate it) and that everyone has something exciting (or at the least relaxing) planned for New Year's.

Today I'd like to share with you a card using Magnolia's Secret Tilda form the Merry Little Christmas Collection.  Although, as you can tell, she's not only a cutie but is also a very versatile image!  I can definitely see myself using this image for lots of birthday cards.  The image was cut out using my Cuttlebug and Mega Nestabilities Labels 8.

I've colored her using Distress Reinkers with Small Koi Water Brush.  There was a little bleed from her hair onto her headband :(  Didn't notice it until after I took the picture, but I'll definitely be covering that up with some pearls or something, lol. 
 
All the papers are from the October Afternoon Schoolhouse 8x8 Paper Pad.  I love all October Afternoon papers and this one is also a must.  Loooove the subtle tones on these papers and they coordinate so well with a lot of the distress ink colors.  The sentiment is from the Whimsy Stamps Ticket Sentiments.

Top 10 of 2010 and fav dog pictures of 2010

I've been seeing this type of post everywhere so I thought I would jump on the bandwagon and join in.  So much fun!  I couldn't pick 10, though, so I narrowed it down to 12.  Better than the 20 that I started out with!

A toast

...to the year that passed and to the new year ahead!

And yes, I do realize that she's tipsy.  I mean, literally - the image is crooked.  Darn it.

Anywho, I wanted to use an image appropriate for the New Year, or even an birthday, so I went with Cocktail Emily from Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps.  Ain't she just a doll?  The beautiful paper that you see in the background is from the BasicGrey Curio 6x6 Paper Pad.  BasicGrey really hit a home run on these last few releases because this pad, like the Jovial pad, is just jammed packed with such gorgeous papers.

Emily was colored with Distress Reinkers with Small Koi Water Brush.  Her umbrella was glitzed up with Viva Decor Copper Pearl Pen.  The olives (I'm going to think that they're olives instead of bubbles) in her martini were dotted with the Viva Decor Kiwi Pearl Pen.  The die is from Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels 10.  The ribbon is from my recently-ballooned ribbon collection from May Arts.

White Christmas

It was more like a gray and rainy Christmas here in Southern California, but that's okay.  I love the rain, as if you couldn't tell :)

I just have a quick card to share with you today for lots of challenges.  With so little time to get anything done these days, it was very nice for all these challenges to make it easy for us to play along :)  I have an almost all-white card to share with you using a doily, some pearls and the Viva Decor Lilac Pearl Pen.  I love these pens!  This is a super simple card, and although Christmas is over, I really wanted to make this after I saw this post by Steph.  Wasn't that just a fantastic idea?? I can't wait to use it on next year's Christmas cards :)

Doilies galore!

I have a few, quick CAS cards to share!  These are a little different from what I normally do, but I was inspired by this post here from Daniela and this post here from Danielle.  Been wanting to CASE them for a while now, but I just haven't had a chance to.  Their cards are way more gorgeous than mine, but I loved the ideas :)

The sentiments on the cards are all Whimsy Stamps (except for the "Eat Dessert" sticker from Studio 18).  The last card uses a stamp from the Whimsy Stamps Love Letter Seals set, which was released this month.  All papers were from the October Afternoon Modern Homemaker 8x8 paper pad.  Did I mention how much I LOVE October Afternoon?  This pad has some great papers in it!  I made generous use of bakers twine (all thanks to Annika who uses them sooo beautifully on her cards) as well as some doilies and lace.

These cards are for the Stamps R Us Challenge (Anything Goes) and for the Die Cut Dreams Challenge (How Girlie can you get?)

Whimsy Stamps Kenny K Release Blog Hop!

Did you hear?!?!  Kenny K images are now available IN RUBBER at Whimsy Stamps!

Whimsy Stamps have some fab news to share with you today - we have a new rubber artist joining our team.... KENNY KIERNAN!

As many of you will know, Kenny K is currently a digital stamp artist (amongst many other things) and although Whimsy will not be carrying any Kenny K digis, we are making some of Kenny's existing designs into rubber and then hopefully adding some new designs along the line that will be exclusive to the Whimsy Stamps Rubber Collection!
