Our first Pink INK Sketch Challenge!

Hi everyone! Today is the FIRST challenge for Pink INK Sketch Challenges and to celebrate our grand "opening," we're kicking things off with a blog hop! So on to my cards! I created three cards for this challenge and was a bit flexible with the sketch, but the elements are still there (I hope you see them). At first, I thought only Tickled Pink Stamps was sponsoring, then we added on Whiff of Joy and also Whimsy Stamps so since I work for all of them, I didn't want to be biased so I used products from all three companies. It was really fun making these cards! It's probably because Jane's sketch is so versatile, but I created these three in about an hour and a half. Granted, two of the images were already colored, but still, I don't think that's bad at all :)

Seriously? It's been a week and a half?

Gosh, I can't believe it's been a week and a half since my last post! I'm still here, I'm just bombarded with work, school and life. My husband and I finally decided to go back and hit the gym so we added an extra thing to our routine that takes even more time away from crafting :)

But anywho, here are two cards that I did a while back, but just hadn't had time to post. I'm sure I used sketches from certain challenges, but those challenges ended ages ago.

I made my first Sweet Pea card! I was inspired by Camilla, who has been sharing some gorgeous Sweet Pea cards (see here and here), and I caved in and placed a big order a few weeks ago. I don't quite know how she colors her images so lightly. I tried on my card to do the same, but it's still not as delicate. I have so much to learn!

Sweet Pea Stamps is having a sale right now on some wonderful images and I just got the newsletter in the mail that has an additional 10% off with the coupon code "presidentsale" That puts the on sale stamps at 60% off!! The stamps are great quality, too. I don't design for the company; I'm just a new and excited fan :)

Whiff of Joy - New sentiments release!

Some of my new sentiment sets released were released at Whiff of Joy today! Here they are:

7 Kids College Fund: Non-traditional Chirstmas Colors!

Where have the days gone?? I feel like the days are hours, hours are minutes, and minutes are seconds. Thanksgiving is tomorrow and pretty soon it's Christmas and then the year will be over! What a year it was....

Anywho, before I get too nostalgic, I'd like to share my card with you! This is for the new 7 Kids College Fund Challenge that was posted today. For the next two weeks, we want you to use Non-Traditional Christmas Colors on your creations. I hope my card counts! I always think of Christmas colors as red and green, maybe gold, but lately, so many people have been using blue that I feel like it's becoming a norm now.

I've used another Whiff of Joy image called Henry Mouse with Christmas Bauble; he's colored with Distress Reinkers using the Small Koi Water Brush. I adore all the Henry Mouse images! The papers I used were from the BasicGrey Olivia 6x6 Paper Pad and paired it up with lots of Prima and WOC flowers.

I put a snowflake die cut behind the flower on the top left, but you can't really see it. I put some glitter using my Clear Atyou Spica Glitter Pen from Copics (can't see this so well in the picture either) on the snowflake on the bauble and used Stickles on Henry's hat. I layered the Large Circle Nestabilities die cut on top of the Labels Three die cut. I've been wanting the Labels Three Nestabilities set for a while now and I finally caved in after seeing so many wonderful creations of people layering it with the circle die cuts.

The highlight lines were made using Inkssentials Opaque White Pen. I'm STILL trying to figure out where to put these darn lines. The border die is Marianne D. and the die cut leaves are from the Shapeabilities Assorted Leaves set.

I'm back for a second time today!

Have I told you all yet how much I love the weekends? I get to craft and relax, even though this weekend I did take some work home. I hate taking work home, but sometimes it takes off some stress during the weekdays so I'm willing to do it here and there. Anywho, I know no one wants to hear about work on a Saturday :)

I have to a card to share for you using the adorable Whiff of Joy image called Sammy with Licorice. This image was illustrated by Alison Acton and is currently available at the 7 Kids College Fund store HERE. The Christmas sentiment is also from Whiff of Joy's Season's Greetings sentiment set, which is also available at 7 Kids HERE. The image was colored with my trusty Distress Reinkers with Small Koi Water Brush. I used Stickles on Sammy's hat.

I broke out my poor, neglected Fiskars Leave it to Weaver Border Punch for this card. I don't know why I don't use this border punch more often because I really do adore threading ribbon and the effect that it gives. It just gives it that "I took time to make this" look, don't you think?

For this card I've used lots of Whimsy Stamps papers from the Holiday Folly pack as well as the NEW Whimsy Stamps "Winter's Jewel" snowflake die. Although it's only one die, you can layer it by cutting it a certain way, like I have on this card :)

Feeling brown

Hi everyone! Wow, it feels like it's been so long since I've posted! Things have been getting pretty busy for me and I just haven't had much time to do all the "fun stuff" that I want to do. I'm sure you must be feeling the same, with holidays around the corner and everything :)

This is just a quick post to share some quick Christmas cards. I need to do some mass production of holiday cards so that's what I did for these. Kept them kind of simple focusing on the image and using some brown holiday paper that I love. I used a few Lili of the Valley images that haven't been used as much as they should, along with a Whiff of Joy image that I adore, but hadn't had time to use.

The first two LOTV cards also fit the challenge over at the LOTV Challenge Blog: Glitter and Glitz.

Hello again :)

I have a get well card to share with you that I made for Tab's son. If you haven't heard about what happened to him, you can read about it here. I thought maybe he needed some cheering up, even though his mom made him smile for a picture already :)

This card was made using the ever-so-cute Henry Mouse. This particular card uses Henry Mouse with Broken Leg, which was colored with my Distress Reinkers with Small Koi Water Brush. The stamp also comes with the perfectly coordinating sentiment that you see on the card! Even though what happened is not funny, I thought it was soooo appropriate and I knew I just had to send this card off to him.

In THIS CARD which I made for the new 7 Kids College Fund challenge, which is GIVE THANKS, I was raving about how I love October Afternoon papers, and for this card, I've used papers again from the Fly a Kite 8x8 paper pad, which comes with 34 sheets!

The green dotty paper was punched using the Martha Stewart Scallop Dot Edge Border Punch and topped off with ribbon :)

7 Kids College Fund Challenge #8: Thank You

Hello all! Happy Wednesday :)

Are you ready for another 7 Kids College Fund Challenge?! Well, you better be because the PRIZE this week is a great one. I wish I could enter, lol. The PRIZE this week is a whopping $75 Gift Certificate to the 7 Kids College Fund store!! Tab has decided to give such a generous prize to say thank you for all the well wishes that she received for Aaron. We all hope that he's doing well and still wish him the best.

Well, I guess before you can win the prize, you have to know what the challenge is. The challenge this week couldn't be any easier and more appropriate: we want to see creations with a "Thank You" theme. See, easy right?

For my challenge card, I've used the super cute Whiff of Joy Henry Mouse Hugging Heart stamp. This image remains to be one of my favorite Whiff of Joy images ever - just look at how precious he is! And he's very versatile. He was colored with Distress Reinkers with Small Koi Water Brush. After I photographed the card, I actually used my Clear Atyou Spica Glitter Pen to add some dazzle to the heart, but I was too lazy to take a picture. You'll just have to trust me that it added a nice effect to it :)

OH!! Did you notice the gorgeous papers?! Well, 7 Kids College Fund now carries the October Afternoon Fly a Kite and and Thrift Shop 8x8 paper pads! I just adore these papers and it actually pains me to have to cut them up, but when I do, I am always pleased with how my card turns out. I know that once you see the papers in this pad, you will also fall in love with them, too. I've used papers from the Fly a Kite pad.

For this card, I went with a cleaner, less-embellished look. The added some green pearls and some die cuts from the Shapeabilities Doodle Part set, added some lace to soften the design, and punched out the border using the Martha Stewart Doily Hearts Edge Punch. The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps Ticket Sentiments and the outside die was cut using the NEW Whimsy Stamps Ticket Die from the Shapeology Collection.

7 Kids College Fund Challenge: Layers and Flowers!

Hello everyone! Hope you're all having a good middle of the week :)

Today we have a new challenge over at the 7 Kids College Fund Challenge Blog! It's an easy one so I hope you'll join us this week. We're asking you to create something with lots of layers and lots of flowers! For my card, at the thickest part, I have about 12 layers. The sketch over at the Whiff of Joy Challenge made this an easy card to put lots of layers on :)

On my card, I've used the super cute Whiff of Joy Stamp called Henry Mouse with Cup of Cocoa. The sentiment stamp is from the new Whiff of Joy Christmas Sentiments using the Fancy Shape die. I did lots of distressing using the my Inkssentials Ink Blending Tool and the Vintage Photo Distress Ink Pad. All the papers on this card are from the BasicGrey Pyrus 6x6 Paper Pad. I really didn't think I'd be using these papers for a Christmas card, but I think it worked out pretty well! The image was colored using Distress Reinkers with Small Koi Water Brush. The border punch is the Martha Stewart Scallop Dot Edge punch.

Whiff of Joy Happy Mail

Whew! Another Monday is over!

This is a quick post to share a card I made using some Whiff of Joy stamps. This card uses the Whiff of Joy City Girl Shape Sentiment Set and City Girl Shape die cut that released on October 1st (which I designed). I love how it works so perfectly peaking out! I've used an image from one of my favorite Whiff of Joy collections, the Happy Mail Collection. This image is Charlotte with Mailbox and the sentiment is from the Charlotte Riding on Pigeon.

I've used some beautiful papers from the BasicGrey Olivia 6x6 Paper Pad, used lots of pearls, lots of flowers, ribbon, and a button. The image was colored with Distress Reinkers with Medium Koi Water Brush. The inside is stamped with a large thank you stamp. Oh my goodness, this thank you stamp is SO OLD that it's actually wood mounted. I love this stamp, though :) The border inside was punched using the Martha Stewart Scallop Dot Edge Punch.

Paper Maniac One Year Celebration!

Welcome to the Paper Maniac One Year Celebration!

Today we are hosting a celebration in honor of Paper Maniac's one year birthday! I was on the first Paper Maniac DT and Patti invited me on board to join in on the festivities. I'm honored to be joining my previous DT members, even if it's just for a blog hop :)

The theme for this blog hop is CELEBRATE! I'm sharing with you a card and a 3x3 note card box (SCS tutorial here) that I created using some GORGEOUS (I absolutely fell in love with these) October Afternoon papers from The Thrift Shop and Fly a Kite pads. The Fly a Kite paper pad is currently out of stock, but it will be back on the shelves in about two weeks time to keep checking the October Afternoon section. I created some fun pinwheels for this project which were really easy to do. The papers aren't double sided - I just glued one on the back of the other :)

A good book on a summer day

Hello my fellow crafters! I've really been lagging these days with my posts and I apologize for that. I'm also behind on my commenting on your blogs, but I appreciate those who keep coming back to comment even though I haven't made it around your blogs lately. Thank you for being so sweet!

Today I'm sharing with you a creation with my newest Whiff of Joy Beach Chair stamp with Reading Willow from the June Fun in the Sun Store Stamp Kit. The Beach Chair is currently in stock at 7 Kids here. I did some paper piecing, something that I haven't done in a while! You can find the paper piecing tutorial at SCS here. I think the paper piecing gave the chair a little character. What do you think?
