My Poor Neglected Blog

Hello everyone :)

Some of you may be wondering where I've been because my poor blog has been left to tend for itself.  I've been a bit busy behind the scenes designing some sentiments and taking off for some family time.  Summer is winding down, but it feels like I didn't even have a summer, which is a good thing and a bad thing.  How time flies when you're having fun! A lot of projects are taking up some time and along with a promotion at work, there's hardly much to do any cardmaking.  You'll see also that my weekly Whimsy Stamps posts will be missing because of the behind-the-scenes things I mentioned above :) 

I'm posting my Prairie Fairy project from last week.  I know, how pathetic that I haven't posted it until now.  I'm sorry, team!

Prairie Fairy Challenge: For the Guys!

Oh man, I'm so dropping the ball on these posts! This post is to share my creation for the latest Prairie Fairy Friday Challenge: For the Guys!  Please visit the Prairie Fairy Fridays blog to see the DT's wonderful creations and to enter our challenge!

For this card, I've used the Prairie Fairy image called Chick Magnet.  Isn't that the cutest name ever??  This card was for the Card Patterns sketch, but I didn't post this early enough and that challenge has ended already :(  I really worked hard on the paper weaving in the background, too! I embossed some papers with a Cuttlebug embossing folder, cut the papers in strips, then weaved them.

Isn't Baby Dillan so adorable??  He's a (relatively) new image from Roberta and he just stole my heart.  I love his binkie and of course, the signature big ole glasses!

Prairie Fairy Friday: Summer Vacation

Are you ready for summer? I'm not, but since it's coming anyway, might as well enjoy it :)

Today at the Prairie Fairy Fridays Challenge Blog, we have a new challenge for you: summer vacation! Prairie Fairy Friday - For the Dads!

It's time for another Prairie Fairy Friday!

This week for Prairie Fairy Friday, the challenge is an easy one (especially for those who have been putting of those Father's Day card) because this week, we're asking you to make something For Dad! Father's Day is only a couple of days away and hopefully you've already made a card for that special dad in your life.  Mine is out of the country so I've already sent him his card.  This card is still for a dad, but just not for Father's Day :)  My card uses the ever-so-cute Lewis with his big old glasses and those freckly cheeks!  I used Diamond Glaze on his glasses and it looks pretty cool in person, but my poor camera didn't pick it up very well.  The sentiment is from the Whimsy Stamps Circle Postmarks set.

Prairie Fairy Friday - Decorate A Bag!

It's time for another Prairie Fairy Friday Challenge!

This week we're asking you to decorate a bag. You don't have to make the bag yourself (like I have here using this 2-5-7-10 Bag tutorial from SCS); you can just decorate one lying around :)  It's good to recycle, anyway!  On this bag, I used cute little Lenny, the first Prairie Fairy image that I fell in love with.  There's just something about his cute little (well, big) nose that I can't resist!

Prairie Fairy Fridays: Week #20 Tent Card

Happy Friday everyone! Whew, I finally have time (after a busy day) to update this post with some more info.

We have a new challenge for you today at Prairie Fairy Fridays: make a tent card.  This is my first tent card, but I must admit, I really enjoyed making it!  It's so easy to do and it gives the card a little extra something different.  Someone asked me where you write the message and one of my PF DT members decorated the back of the tent card so that she can write her message there - how clever!

Here's my project using the box that my adhesives came in (yes I love ordering in bulk).  I cut it in half because it was way too tall. These sweet Norm 'n Helen Hippo images are just so cute!

This second card is to showcase a stamp that Deb at Deb's Creations carries.  This cute stamp is from Wags 'n Whiskers called Water Baby.  I don't know why, but this little girl looks really sassy to me! Must be the look she's giving, lol.  I also colored this card using my Distress Reinkers!
