Two birthday cards for several challenges

I made two birthday cards today that I wanted to submit to several challenges. They're very minimal in terms of embellishments because I wanted the car shapes to really stand out and be the thing that you noticed the most, but the green/gold and pink papers are MUCH more shimmery in person. Please scroll down entire post to see pictures of both cards and the challenges entered. Enjoy :)

First card is a birthday card for a male and is for submission to four challenges:
  1. Flourishes Newsletter - for the Timeless Tuesday Birthday Card challenge
  2. Flourishes Newsletter - for the Release Challenge which was a his & hers matching set - this is the "his" part :)
  3. Cupcake Craft Challenges - for Challenge 39 Card for a man or a boy
  4. Simon Says Stamp - for Simon Says One for the boys challenge

Second card
is a birthday card for a female and is for submission to three challenges:
  1. Flourishes Newsletter - for the Release Challenge which was a his & hers matching set - this is the "her's" part :)
  2. The Pink Stamper - for Color Challenge #4 - black and pink
  3. Creative Card Crew - for Challenge #10 Minimal

These cards were both made in the same fashion. I converted some dingbat fonts of cars into SVG and cut them using SCAL and the Cricut. "Pink Ladies" letters were also cut using SCAL/Cricut. Pink paper was from the DCWV Glitter Stack and I don't know where the goldish/green is from. I cut shadows of the car outlines also and glued one to the back of the car sihouette. Heavy-weight transparency (I guess it's acetate paper? I don't know...) was sandwiched between the two shadows and folded it in half to make a standing card. Of course, I don't feel like it's really mine if I don't do some embossing, so I wrote the sentiment on the male card using Quickie Sakura glue, sprinkled different colors of embossing powder on the words and heat embossed it. Sentiments on the inside were just made and printed out from the computer.
